The Role
We're looking for an experienced Lead VoIP Engineer to help design, scale, and optimize high-availability communication infrastructure.
In this role, you'll take ownership of critical voice systems, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability while supporting a rapidly growing platform used at significant scale.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain scalable VoIP infrastructure.
- Configure and troubleshoot SIP, RTP, and call routing systems.
- Monitor, optimize, and support high-availability production environments.
- Implement security, redundancy, load balancing, and failover strategies.
- Collaborate across engineering teams to improve performance and reliability.
- 5+ years of VoIP engineering experience with FreeSWITCH and Kamailio.
- 3+ years of hands-on Kubernetes (K8s) experience in production environments.
- Strong knowledge of SIP, RTP, VoIP call flows, and SIP monitoring tools (e.g., Homer).
- Experience managing high-load, highly available VoIP infrastructure.
- Deep understanding of WebRTC, NAT traversal, STUN/TURN, and ICE frameworks.
- Proficiency in Linux, networking, troubleshooting, and automation scripting (Bash, Python, or Golang).
- Experience with load balancing, failover strategies, traffic optimization, and databases such as Redis or PostgreSQL.
