Axiom Recruit is hiring a remote Internal Auditor for a $1bn fintech and digital-assets unicorn building the next generation of global financial infrastructure in payments, banking and digital assets. The business has raised over $100m in 2026 and is now accelerating its international and regulatory expansion.
This is not a traditional third-party financial audit role. Financial audit is already supported externally. This person will look at how the business actually operates, identify risks, weaknesses, and inefficient processes, strengthen controls, and help the company operate better as it scales.
The wider mission is to make financial infrastructure and wealth-building tools available in markets traditional banks have often overlooked — giving more people access to global banking, investing and real-world assets.
As that complexity grows, so does the need for stronger internal controls, processes and governance.
What You’ll Do
- Review how key business and operational processes work end-to-end
- Identify risks, inefficiencies and control gaps
- Assess and test internal controls
- Investigate the root causes behind issues
- Recommend practical improvements
- Work with teams to strengthen processes and systems
- Track findings and remediation through to completion
- Help build a stronger, more scalable operating environment
What We’re Looking For
- Experience across Internal Audit, Operational Audit, Internal Controls, Risk & Controls or Controls Assurance
- Ideally from fintech, payments, banking, financial services or another regulated environment
- Comfortable looking beyond a checklist and understanding how a business actually works
- Able to identify weaknesses, challenge constructively and help implement practical improvements
- CIA, CISA, ACA or ACCA would be advantageous, but are not essential
- We are not specifically looking for a traditional external financial auditor.
